The True Meaning of Casting Your Cares on Him

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5: 7

We go through so much every day, and sometimes we get to ask the question, “Why me.” A point in life comes when we feel that life is meaningless. We look at situations surrounding us, and we see that there is no hope. This is because we carry so much baggage that wears us down.

Let’s take our everyday life example. When you go shopping and end up with lots of stuff, you quickly look around and ask for help to get your luggage to your car or home. You feel so much relieved that you did not have to carry the luggage alone.

Unfortunately, this is not the case when we are having struggles in our personal lives. Financial struggles, poor relationships, workplace challenges, distraught children, addictions, and many other struggles are baggage for oneself. Family and friends may care for some time and help out, but ultimately give up.

It is at such moments that we feel that we have it all on ourselves. We tend to feel the weight of life worries all upon our shoulders and beyond our ability. It is at this endpoint that we need to let go and let God.

Casting your cares on Him means that you no longer have to worry or stress about anything and everything that troubles your mind. All you have to do is to pile your troubles on God’s Shoulders and let Him do the carrying for you. All you have to do is to walk with Him and keenly listen to His directions. For instance, you do not have to worry about your children getting that job you have longed to see them in. God already knows an employer who is desperately looking for their skills.

It is only when you learn to fully roll all your burdens to the Lord that you will find joy unspeakable and refuse to be consumed by worry, sadness, and grief. You will be better placed in the place of surety for God’s help and direction even as you work and make decisions to address problems. You will have the confidence of having God as your sole partner in guiding your every step towards finding a solution.

God looks at us with his loving eyes and longs for us to turn to Him for help. He knows our weakness, and He desires for us to show Him how badly we need Him. Dear friend, choose to cast your care on Him because he cares for you. This is the only way to walk free and enjoy the peace that surpasses all human understanding.
