It’s Time To Rise Up: Get Up, Get Dressed & Get Out

Acts 12:11
And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”

Many times when believers first give their lives to Christ, they do not realize the fullness of the decision they have made. To submit your life to the Lord Jesus is to declare war on the kingdom of darkness.

The power to resist the devil lies in submitting your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, which is the key to a victorious life. The moment you make Jesus Lord, you have declared war on the enemy and the kingdom of darkness.

The kingdom of God also has tools or keys to make this life what God wants it to be. God’s desire is for righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost to be established in the life of the believer. When you come into the kingdom of God, He gives you the gift of the ministry of angels.

Hear the good news in Hebrews 1:14 on angels: “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?”

The verse above says that angels are ministering spirits sent to minister to you. What does the ministry of angels look like? It means that angels are for you, to protect you, shield you, fight for you and guard you.

When we read Acts 12:1-11, we learn that James, one of the leaders of the early church, was killed by Herod and was favored by the Jews.

When he saw how happy they were, he took Peter prisoner. This sounds like a horrible danger that no Christian wants to be in.

Now amid the dangerous situation that ended badly for James, the bible says that the church prayed for Peter.  As a result, God sends an angel to set Peter free. As the angel says to him, “arise quickly,” the chains fall from Peter’s hands.

The command that the angel brings from the Lord breaks the chains off Peter’s hands. The angel then tells him to dress up and follow him. Then the angel leads him to the city gate leading him down a street, and then disappears. Peter now realizes that it is not a vision but reality.
God’s words are powerful. Has God given any words to you of late? The Lord is always speaking to His children. Spend time at His feet and find out His word to you in this season.

Psalm 103:20
Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word.

Angels respond to God’s word. One of the ways to release angels is to speak God’s word.
As a child of God, you can also pray and ask the Lord to send angels to minister to you in difficult situations.

God who sent angels at the prayers of the saints to deliver Peter can send angels to deliver you also regardless of your situation.

(Acts 5:17-21)

Take note that Peter and other apostles were also rescued from prison by an angel in Acts 5. One day while the apostles were preaching the gospel, the Pharisees arrested them for preaching in the name of Jesus.

When the angel led them out without the guards realizing it. The angel then took them to the synagogue in Jerusalem to preach the gospel. In the strength of this deliverance from prison, they chose to obey God rather than men.

Another occasion when angels were seen in the New Testament is when Jesus rose from the dead. Two angels met the women at the tomb to tell them that Jesus had risen and they should not be seeking the living among the dead. (Luke 24:1-7)

These three examples show that God delights in activating the ministry of angels for his children so that they would be victorious in living the life of Christ on earth and preaching the gospel to all the world.

God is committed to preaching the gospel of the kingdom all over the world. If you stay committed to the things that God is committed to, you can always count on Him to send angels to rescue and protect you.

Sometimes angels come to protect you, other times they deliver messages from God, and some other times they minister in your life to establish the will of God on earth.

Beloved, be encouraged and know that you are called to do the works of God on earth.

Be convinced that attached to it is the ministry of angels given to those who are the heirs of salvation. You qualify by the blood of Jesus, so be confident to ask God to send angels to protect or speak to you. Have communion with the Father; He is waiting for you with arms wide open, ready to talk and defend you.
