It’s My Due Season
It’s My Due Season
Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
What does ‘due season’ mean? Due season means God’s appointed time to bless you. It means God’s season, His set time to favor you.
Some people give up at the edge of their breakthrough. They get tired of waiting for God, and they compromise. Some get tired and stop believing in God and fall into temptation. They choose to obey man instead of God because obedience is difficult.
The word for you today is that your due season is here. God did not create you to put you in perpetual disappointment. God had a plan for you and your life. You do not have to worry anymore; your harvest is at your doorstep.
God created you for His glory. God created you for His pleasure. God created you to see and experience His goodness. His goodness is available to you today because you stood when temptation tried to take you away from the presence of the Lord.
Waiting on God’s time (the due season) develops trust in your heart. It helps you to depend on God in all things and not trying to be your savior or doing things out of God’s timing for your life.
Put your trust in Him as you would trust One that is not a man. Trust the Lord who keeps His word. You can count on His faithfulness in season and out of season.
Don’t be weary in doing good. Keep doing good for the One who promised you is faithful to keep His word to you.
The disciples experienced difficult times too. They had difficult seasons. One of such seasons was after the crucifixion of Jesus and after His resurrection. Jesus had ascended and they were preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ all over Jerusalem and many were turning to the Lord.
The Pharisees took notice of what was happening and arrested them. The high priest asked them not to teach in the name of Jesus.
Hear Peter:
Acts 5:29
But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: we ought to obey God rather than men.
The high priest is the highest authority when it comes to Judaism and he had commanded Peter and the apostle not to teach in the name of Jesus. They heard him who they could see and disobeyed him for He they could not see.
They chose to obey God instead of the high priest of Israel.
Peter was vocal about his decision. He said in clear words that he would rather obey God than men.
Be clear in making your choice. Choose God. Choose obedience to God and not men.
In your daily life, choose obedience to God. Even when temptations and the choice to compromise show up in your daily life, choose to obey God instead of man. Suffer the punishment that comes with obeying God instead of choosing the comfort of a season that comes from obeying man. The Lord will reward your obedience to Him.
Philippians 3:13 – 14
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
The heavenly race is not a race of compromise and temptation. Thank God, for the Holy Spirit of God who will be your friend and comforter in the journey to make heaven.
You have within you the Holy Spirit of God and thus, the power to forget the things behind you. When you forget there is also the grace to press for the prize of the upward call in God.
There are good things ahead of you. Reach for it. God has a purpose for you ahead of you. Take hold of it. Embrace the plan of God for your life. Leave your old life behind you and take a hold of the plan of God for your life.
God wants to do many things IN YOU, before He releases the things for you, but He will not do it in your timing. He will do it in due season. Get used to doing and receiving the things God has for you in due season.
Reach for the upward call of God. Put a value on it. Do not stop doing good as you wait on the Lord.
God is your shield and exceeding great reward and He will reward your faith in Him. God is with you every day to help you live a life that is pleasing to Him. Receive the grace to walk worthy of the call of God for your life.
Let us pray:
Thank you for the sacrifice of your Son on the cross. Thank you for His resurrection. Thank you for bringing the due season to me. It is my time and it is my season to experience your favour and enter into your assignment for my life in Jesus name, Amen.
