God’s Assurance To Restore What is Lost and Broken
God’s Assurance To Restore What is Lost and Broken
Have you ever experienced an awful time in your life, a time when it felt like the Lord just walked away, and there were so many problems that you could not see through to the other side? I have. God has brought me through some difficult situations where I thought all was lost. Every loss can be a restoration when we seek God and find him more than able to make all things new.
“Restore” means to bring back something into its original position. Yes. God can back your situation to its original position –no exceptions. He promises to restore what is lost and broken–costly relationship broken, personal brokenness, shattered dreams, political or economic brokenness, and you name it.
Where Do You Need To Be?
Are you where you need to be concerning your relationship with God and your goals? Sometimes, we drift away from our plans unintentionally. We end up in a space that is far from where we needed to be. None of us grew up thinking, “I hope to be addicted someday.” We may also have neglected our relationship with God. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23. Where do we turn when we find ourselves in messed-up situations?
Brought Back.
God wants to bring you back to the right place. The Bible is filled with texts of God bringing back people to their rightful positions. Think of the story of the Prodigal son(Luke 15:11–32). His father restores him to sonship after he came back home. The Bible is filled with a theme of Restoration from Genesis to Revelation. We see God creating a perfect man, the man falling, and God Sending His son to restore man. The Psalmist writes, “How long, O Lord until you restore me?” (Psalm 6:3)
Our God Has Promised Us Restoration.
Our God is a God of restoration. When He restores you, it’s not just about what you lost. He will add more blessings to your situation. You’ll be amazed. God promises the restoration of your health. Jerimiah 30;17 “For I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds,’ says the LORD, ‘Because they called you an outcast saying: “This is Zion; No one seeks her.”
God also promises financial restoration. Joel 2:25 “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.”
God Will Restore
In Joel chapter 2, God promises to not only restore but renew the wasted years. That’s right! My life was quite messed up for a long time. I had ruined my years with drug and alcohol addiction. I have seen God restore me and also renew the years I lost stuck in additions. I have experienced freedom in my finances, health, and even family. I couldn’t be happier.
What are you trusting God for? Are you longing to recover lost time, hurt feelings, or even broken relationships? Understand that God restores. Find out how God restores, and don’t let regret and loss draw you away from the presence of God.
